Orchestrating (and Leveraging) a Celebrity Visit

After its debut in 2016, Le Barthélemy quickly became the darling of St. Barth’s, an island which hadn’t seen a new hotel in nearly 20 years prior to the opening.  Earning praise among international press, guests and locals, the hotel was voted as the No. 1 hotel in the Caribbean by Cond é Nast Traveler Reader's Choice Award and Travel + Leisure´s World´s Best Awards. Seeking to capitalize on its accolades, D/R sought opportunities to continue developing the hotel’s image as a destination ripe for celebrity stays, while still affording privacy to those that visit. Working with NYC-based Galavante, D/R arranged a visit for Ashley Graham and her husband to visit the hotel for a babymoon, securing an agreed upon delayed social content and media relations strategy.  Securing massive international press, as well as increased web traffic and social engagement, the visit also sparked interest from other A-List celebs, from Mariah Carey to Bethenny Frankel to Rachel Zoe.
